June 8 th - Day 4 - Charleston, SC

I know I haven’t updated the blog in a while and this entry is a little behind but here it is any way. On day four of our journey, we were still in Charleston waiting for a flight out to go into Ramstein, but it was looking like we were going to have to go into Spain. From Spain we would be able to fly out to Germany. During that time, we decided to go see the aircraft carrier named USS Yorktown. It was amazing to walk around on a piece of man made workmanship that was capable of landing planes. We probably walked a total of one mile on the ship making our way through the maze of hallways all throughout. We took many pictures of the ship and after about two hours of exploring then we made our way back to the car. From there we made our way to our friends’ house the Seagles. There, we were able to eat dinner, wash our clothes, and completely prepare for the plane ride to Ramstein that night. After around two and a half hours of spending time at the Seagles, we drove to the passenger terminal of the base. We arrived at the airport and spent some time in the terminal to only find out that we were not able to get on the flight because of the category we were in. After that, we went back to the Seagles to spend the night. We had a very enjoyable night with them despite the disappointment of not being able to leave the country. We slept wonderfully and were very thankful for the hospitality of the Seagles.
