When we decided to go on this trip there was always a question as to where we would fly out. You see we (Beth and the kids) are flying Space A with the military. There is a great website that keeps you up to date on the flights and most Air Force Terminals have a Facebook page. The plan at first was to fly out of Charleston, SC but then Jackson, MS looked even better. But Win had said last week that we needed to reconsider Charleston. After watching the movements of the flights (really at 2 AM Tuesday morning when I couldn't sleep) I decided that Charleston was the place to fly out of. When a plan flies out of Charleston it goes straight to Germany, Jackson flies to Andrews, AFB and then we would still have to catch a flight out to Germany. So the decision was made and all those last minutes things that have to be done before a trip, had to get done!! We finally left Montgomery at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. Arriving in Charleston Tuesday night about 10PM. I knew when we left there were no flights listed but I knew some flights were coming in and they would be added as out going flights. When we got here billeting said no flights were added. But after we got settled I went over to the termninal and signed in and was told that there was a flight out Friday night and there is a good chance we are on that flight. Now the question is do we catch the flight out to Dover in the morning and have a better chance of getting out Friday night or take our chances here in Charleston. The kids want to stay here in Charleston and tour downtown tomorrow. I think the Lord will let me know at 2 AM! So, the journey has begun! We are happy and are looking forward to seeing Win. I hope that the kids will also post here.
